Update

June 28th, 2008

Ive had pretty limited Internet access recently. So there hasn’t been a lot of activity on this site. But my internet situation should change soon. Meanwhile, my family members have been active in posting to the family website. So feel free to check out the pics there. www.Barrows-Family.com

Playing with twitter

January 28th, 2008

TwitterWith twitter getting so much attention on the web these days, I thought I should check it out. So I went ahead and created a twitter account.
It’s kind of cool. A lot like the status message on MySpace or Facebook. Not really all that different actually. One cool thing is that you can update it from an IM client or a mobile phone. At this point I’m really wishing there was some way to send a status comment to all the services at once. So that I could send a message to a single location and have it update the status comments on all the services I’m signed up for. But I guess that would be too much to ask. So anyway, here’s a link to my twitter page.

Mission Project update

January 2nd, 2008

Thought I would give everyone an update on what has been going on with my project. I spent most of my holiday vacation days working on the installer and a website for the project. So the whole missions project is now hosted out at www.MissionDisk.com

There is still lots of work to be done, but I thought I was to the point where creating a website for it was worthwhile. So head out to the website and check out the project.

Google Reader

December 13th, 2007

googlereader2.pngI just found out that you can publish a feed of the feeds you are subscribed to.
Not only can you publish the feed and a special page, you can also embed a cool little javascript gadget into your page or blog.
So I went ahead and created a page to put all my feed categories into. So now you can see what I’m reading every day. Just follow the link to check it out.

My Missions Project

November 27th, 2007

Bunny dancingI’ve gotten a lot of feedback on the project so far and things are really starting to look good. I’m still trying to find a good name for it, but I’m sure that will come. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Meanwhile I’ve finished identifying the software that I’m going to include on the CD and am starting on an install script to install all the different packages at once. Once I’ve finished the majority of the install script, I’ll start writing documentation and templates.

By the way, if you are wondering what project I’m talking about check out this post on my Blog

Happy Thanksgiving

November 22nd, 2007

Turkey
Well, today is Thanksgiving. A day where in the US we all stuff ourselves with as much food as we can possible eat. Cakes, pies, potatoes, ham and best of all Turkey.

A good day for eating.

Of course we shouldn’t forget what we are celebrating. The goal of this holiday is to give thanks for everything we have and to enjoy it.

So Happy Thanksgiving!

New Theme

November 20th, 2007

Well, I just replaced my old theme on this site with a new one. I was using the Barthelme theme, but I never really liked it. So when I saw this theme, I jumped on it. I really like this one a lot better.

So far this site is mostly a placeholder still. One of these days, I’ll put something useful up here. But there isn’t any rush. I find that providing content for my other two sites fills up most of my time.

So if you want to see what I’ve been up to, check out The Online Rant, my personal blog.
