I rather liked the book. It wasn’t Reynolds best work, but it kept me interested throughout the story.
The concept of zones where certain levels of technology work and others don’t was very interesting. Relations and trade between those technology zones was fascinating.
My only problem with the story is that it didn’t end. I got to the last page and was left completely hanging. Not just with some threads left open for the next book, but rather like there were whol missing chapters at the end of the story. So I hope it is the first of a series and we get a little more closure in the next book.
