Very detailed and very dark world full of strange beasts and half man half beast people. The entire story is centered around a single city that is under threat from strange creatures imported into the city for weapons research. The creatures escape and we get to follow a scientist and his friends as they hunt the creatures through the city.
Ok, that all sounds good. But did I like the book. No. I didn’t. Not because the story was bad or poorly written, but rather because the characters didn’t appeal to me. It’s hard to care about what is happening to people you don’t like. Books usually have people you are meant to not like and people you are meant to like. And in this case, I really didn’t like the people I was meant to like. I just couldn’t get into them. So I didn’t really like the book.
